Dan Ericksen, Wasco County Judge, took office in 2003 after serving 6 years as County Commissioner and another 18 years on County committees, mostly dealing with land use.
In October, 2009, the County Court voted to abolish the Office of the Wasco County Judge and to become a Board of County Commissioners, effective January 4, 2010. Dan Ericksen will serve as Chair of the Board of County Commissioners until his term expires in January, 2011.
He and his wife, Kay, graduated from Oregon State Univ. in 1974 and have been raising cherries in The Dalles for the last 30 years.
As third generation orchardists they currently operate 60 acres of fresh market cherries.
