Where We are Located

Wasco County, Oregon is located approximately 90 minutes east of the Portland Metro Area.


Wasco County covers 2,387 square miles and is bordered by the Columbia River to the north, the Deschutes River to the east and the Cascade Mountains to the west. It offers diverse climates, from an elevation of 98 feet in The Dalles on the Columbia, to plateaus of golden wheat fields, to forested mountains in the Cascades.

The County Seat is the City of The Dalles (www.ci.the-dalles.or.us), located 80 miles east of the Portland metropolitan area and Portland International Airport along Interstate 84. Other incorporated cities in Wasco County include Dufur, Mapin, Mosier, Shaniko, and Antelope. A large portion of the County's southwest corner is within the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Indian Reservation.

Portland International Airport is also approximately 75 miles west of Wasco County, providing additional and convenient travel access.
