To preserve and enhance the beauty, livability, and economy of Wasco County

Mission Statement
 The Wasco County Planning Department strives to make the planning process understandable, convenient, and expeditious while treating everyone in an equitable, professional and respectful manner.

Objectives
 - Protect life and property by determining how and where development occurs (flood, fire, land slide, etc...).
- Protect investments in property by ensuring that incompatible uses do not occur on adjacent properties (right to farm, setbacks, industrial uses in commercial zones).
- Protect the environment for future generations (buffers and protections zones).
- Protect the economic health of county by coordinating private development with the provision of public services and infrastructure (roads, power, schools, fire, ambulance, etc�).
